Original price was: ₹600.Current price is: ₹450.

Product Description:

  • Cats ‘n Snapper is a wonderful game all about mental addition, subtraction and memory. It is nicely wrapped up in a sweet story about 4 little cats and their friend Snapper the squirrel.
  • Simple addition and subtraction up to 20, are essential in primary math and help to solve difficult questions too. This game focusses on the addition and subtraction of pairs of numbers, so that they become so ingrained in children’s minds, and it becomes second nature to know them!

Description:

  • Snapper the squirrel is the best of friends with four cats. While chasing a nut, Snapper finds himself stranded in the middle of a pond. It is now up to the cats to rescue their friend. But the cats are too terrified to touch the water. They need stones to step on and reach up to Snapper.
  • The cat that saves Snapper wins the game! This game can be played by 2, 3 or 4 players!

Game content:

  • 5 reversible board pieces that snap together to form the game board
  • 45 number stepping stones: Grey stones from 1-10 and brown stones from 11-20. These are used to cover the numbers on a players path to Snapper the squirrel.
  • 4 blocking stepping stones: These can be used to block an opponent cat’s path to Snapper the squirrel by covering any of their stepping stones with a blocking stone.
  • 4 unblocking stepping stones: If your path is blocked by a blocking stone, you can use the corresponding unblocking stone to remove the blocking stone.
  • A mossy blocking stone can be made less slippery by using a mat on the moss. So remove the mossy blocking stone if you find the mat unblocking stone.
  • A dirty blocking stone can be cleaned by using water. So remove the dirty blocking stone if you find the water unblocking stone.
  • A dangerous crab blocking stone can be crossed by covering the crab with a basket, so remove the crab blocking stone if you find the basket unblocking stone.
  • A hot blocking stone can be cooled down by using ice cubes. So remove the hot blocking stone, if you find the ice unblocking stone.
  • 2 blank stepping stones (to be used only if any of the stones are lost or misplaced).

How to set up the game?

  • The game can be played at two levels – Kitten and Cat. The Kitten level is for younger children, while the Cat level is for older children.
  • Kitten level: Set up the board. Use only the stepping stones that are completely grey (from numbers 1 – 10). Turn them over (so that the blank side is visible) and arrange them in rows.
  • Cat level: Set up the board. Use all the stepping stones. Turn them over (so that the blank side is visible) and arrange them in rows.

How to play:

  • The youngest player starts the game.
  • They turn any two stones over.
  • If both stones turned over are numbers, the player must add them or subtract the smaller number from the larger number. They then look to see if the answer matches any number on their cat’s path to Snapper the squirrel. If there is a match, they cover that number with the stepping stones that were picked up (blank side facing up). If there is no match, they replace the stones in their original positions (blank side facing up).
  • If any of the stones turned over is a blocking stone, a player should keep it with them to block other players later in the game. The other number stone should be put back in its original position (blank side facing up). To block an opponent, a player must place the blocking stone on top of an opponent’s stepping stone that is already covering a number.
  • If any of the stones turned over is an unblocking stone, a player can use it only if their path to Snapper the squirrel is blocked by the corresponding blocking stone. For example, if a player’s path is blocked by a dirty stone and they find a hose stone, they can remove the dirty stone from their path. In such a case, both the blocking and unblocking stones should be removed and not used again in the game.
  • If the player cannot use the unblocking stone, they must replace it in its original place. The other number stone turned over, must also be replaced in its original place (blank side facing up).

Who wins the game?

  • The player who covers all the numbers on their path to Snapper the squirrel wins the game and their cat reaches Snapper the squirrel first. The game stops when one player reaches Snapper.
